THE HISTORY DEPARTMENT: MINOR REQUIREMENTS
Students are required to take a total of 18 credit hours in history [6 history courses]. Only one course may be satisfied via AP/IB/transfer credit.
Within the above, students are required to take at least 3 credit hours [1 course] at the 100-level. There are three distribution requirements for the History minor. The geographic field requirement requires that students take courses in at least two different geographical regions. The chronology requirement requires that students take courses in both modern and premodern periods, before and after 1750. The upper-level requirement requires that students take a minimum of three courses at the 300/400-level.
