Film Screening & Conversation w/ Director Matthew Porterfeld
A Northern Irish runaway in trouble in Ocean City retreats to an aunt and uncle’s house in Baltimore. In the midst of a divorce, the couple strains to keep the separation amicable for the benefit of their daughter, who commiserates with her cousin as they all use music to make sense of their respective difficulties. The third feature film from Baltimore filmmaker Matt Porterfield, I Used to Be Darker examines the cathartic power of artistic expression, as the family use their music to examine themselves and to connect to others. Join us at the Miller Center for a screening and Q & A with director Matt Porterfield from 6-8PM.
