History Graduate Student Association Hosts 2010 Conference

History Thursday, February 4 – Friday, February 5 2010 Taliaferro Hall,

The Department of History Graduate Student Association is hosting its 2010 Conference on Thursday, February 4, 2010 until Friday, February 5, 2010.

The conference will have several speakers on the seven panels: "Worth A Thousand Words: American Print Culture," "Shifting Politics in 20th Century Mexico," "Wheelers and Dealers: Influence and Persuasion in Early Modern Europe," "Perceptions of Gender in the Americas," "Perception, Power, and Propaganda: Memory and Influence in the Ancient Mediterranean World," "International and Transnational Histories," and "Where the Money’s At: Economics in 20th Century America."

The keynote speaker will be Alison Games of Georgetown University.  Her talk,"America's Global Origins," will be Friday afternoon.

This event is free and open to the University of Maryland community.
