Miller Center Film Series: "Hannah Arendt"

History Wednesday, February 26, 2014 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Taliaferro Hall, 2118

History Department faculty and students are invited to attend a Miller Center Film Series showing of the feature film Hannah Arendt (2012).  Starring Barbara Sukowa and directed by Margarethe von Trotta, Hannah Arendt examines the life of German-Jewish philosopher and political theorist Hannah Arendt (1906-1975).  As a journalist, Arendt covered the 1961 trial of Nazi war criminal Adolf Eichmann and famously used the term "banality of evil" to describe how many Germans, including leaders within the Jewish community, allowed totalitarianism to develop in Nazi Germany.

Beer, wine, and pizza will be served.   Please note that we will card during this event.  Please RSVP.

This film is the first in the Miller Center film series, an experimental program designed to combine food, drink, and movies to encourage sociability under the guise of seriousness.
