Join us for a panel discussion with Special Guest
Robert Newman, Director of the
National Humanities Center (NHC), on New Directions In the Humanities, on Thursday March 2, 2017, at 3pm in Ulrich Recital Hall. As current trends - scholarly, public, societal, and funding - are influencing the direction and future of the humanities, this event provides an important opportunity for our community to come together for reflection and discussion. Robert Newman will be joined by
Julie Greene, UMD professor of history and past NHC fellow, and
Kellie Robertson, UMD associate professor of English and past NHC fellow, in conversation about the future of the humanities moderated by Associate Dean
Sheri Parks. Please Note: Robert Newman will also be available to meet with interested faculty to discuss the
National Humanities Center Fellowship opportunity, a residential fellowship for advanced study in the humanities, from 1:30-2:30 p.m. in Tawes Hall, room 2115 (Faculty/Staff Lounge).
