Fellowships and Grants


Prof. Bell is one of 28 American scholars to receive a "Public Scholars" grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities in 2017.

The National Endowment for the Humanities has awarded a $300,000 grant to the Freedmen and Southern Society.

Professor Bell has been elected as Fellow of the Royal Historical Society and two other distinguished societies.

Professor Rodríguez has been awarded the UMD-SI Seed Grant for her proposal.

Eben Levey has been awarded a Fulbright Grant for a research project in Mexico.

The Nathan and Jeanette Miller Center for Historical Studies and the University of Maryland Libraries have awarded the 20th Century Japan Research Award for 2014-2015.

Piotr H Kosicki is a W. Glenn Campbell and Rita Ricardo-Campbell National Fellow for 2014–2015 at the Hoover Institution. He also received the 2014-15 Distinguished Fellowship of the Notre Dame Institute for Advanced Study at the University of Notre Dame, which he declined in favor of the fellowship at Stanford.
