2014-2015 20th Century Japan Research Award Winners
The Nathan and Jeanette Miller Center for Historical Studies and the University of Maryland Libraries have awarded the 20th Century Japan Research Award for 2014-2015 to two applicants. These scholars will use the stipend to conduct research using the University of Maryland’s Gordon Prange Collection. While the Miller Center received more research proposals than ever before, the selection committee selected the following applicants:
-Professor Vanessa Ward (University of Otago)--"Publishing Progressive Thought in Occupied Japan"
-Professor Shota Ogawa (University of North Carolina at Charlotte)--"Imagining Natural Color: Impact of Color Film on Occupation-era Paper Media"
