Paleography & The Archives Seminar

On Friday, April 18, from 9:15 am - 5 pm, the Graduate Field Committee in Medieval & Early Modern Studie

On Friday, April 18, from 9:15 am - 5 pm, the Graduate Field Committee in Medieval & Early Modern Studies will host an all-day seminar and practicum, "Paleography & the Archives." Professors Sabrina Baron, Holly Brewer, Alejandro Cañeque (all from the History Department), and Professor Ralph Bauer (from English) will present panels on British and Spanish Atlantic World topics and then guide participants through hands-on paleography practice.  All interested faculty and grad students are invited.  This promises to be a terrific crash course (or refresher) in archival research. Moreover, for graduate students especially, this is a unique opportunity to work closely with faculty both inside and outside of your home departments.         The event will take place in the Michelle Smith Collaboratory, 4213 Art/Sociology.  Breakfast, lunch, and snacks will be provided.  Please R.S.V.P. to Chris Maffuccio at <cmaffucc@umd.edu>.  For more information, please see the schedule.
