The History Minor

Minor Requirements

Participating students are required to complete 18 credits (6 courses) in History. The courses must be distributed in at least 2 geographic fields (Asia, Europe, United States, Middle East, etc.) and must include at least one course in each of two chronological periods (pre-1750/post-1750). A minimum of 9 credits are required at the 300- or 400- level. No more than 3 credits (1 course) may be at the 100- level, and no more than 3 credits (1 course) can be fulfilled by AP, IB, or transfer credit.

Please note that the major and the minor are not interchangeable. The major allows students to complete more in depth study of a particular interest, engages students with research seminars, and allows a much greater understanding of the field.
