The Nathan and Jeanette Miller Center for Historical Studies invites you to attend a lunch talk by Professor Michele Lamprakos titled "Conflict, Convivencia, and the Life of Buildings." 

Professor Lamprakos (UMD Schol of Architecture, Planning, and Urban Development) paper (see abtract in attachment below) examines the architectural implications of the historical process of convivencia (the idea that Islamic and Christian societies sometimes tolerated and even influenced each other on the Iberian Peninsula from the 700s to the 1400s).
