Professor Villani has presented at a meeting of the Research Group in Early Modern Religious Dissidents and Radicalism at the Villa Vigoni in Menaggio, Italy, on June 16, 2016.

Professor Stefano Villani has presented at a meeting of the Research Group in Early Modern Religious Dissidents and Radicalism (Emodir), entitled “I dissensi religiosi nell’Europa moderna: construzioni in movimento – legami, linguaggi, oggetti” (“the Religious Dissidents in Modern Europe: construnctions in movement – links, languages, objects”), at the Villa Vigoni in Menaggio, Italy, on June 16, 2016. His paper was entitled “Il capello e vestiti dei quaccheri” (“The hat and the clothes of the Quakers”).

The meeting, which was held from June 15 to 18, 2016, brought together interdisciplinary researchers of religious dissidence in the modern era in the disciplines of history, literature, anthropology, linguistics, theology, and religious studies. The meeting examined the links and alliances to construct dissident groups, communications and languages of dissident groups, and their materiality and immateriality.
