Our most recent graduates have found jobs or post-doctoral fellowships at such colleges, universities, and institutions as George Washington University, Ohio University, Morgan State University, Iowa State University, the University of Miami, Johns Hopkins University, Bucknell University, Eastern Michigan University, Claremont-McKenna College, the National Archives and Records Administration, the US Holocaust Memorial Museum, American Battle Monuments Commission, and the CIA.  

The members of our extended alumni community, numbering over three hundred PhD, MA, and HiLS recipients, work as professional historians throughout the State of Maryland, in a number of United States Government agencies, and at institutions of higher education and historical research across the United States and around the globe.

Once a Terp, Always a Terp

The PhD, MA, and HiLS degrees in History provide the skills to excel in a wide-range of professions, for example, recovering MIA soldiers from WWII; as the Historian of the US Senate; as History professors at US and international universities; as curators, etc. in the many museums of the Smithsonian Institution; and in any number of fascinating vocations.
