Current Students

Students in the Department of History at the University of Maryland have access to a range of online and in-person resources. Find helpful information regarding advising, curriculum requirements, declaring the History Major, and more listed below.

Students wishing to declare History as a major should make an appointment to meet with an advisor in the Department. The advisor will go over the program, requirements, internships, study abroad, etc.  During this session, the advisor will help plan a curriculum to meet each student's personal and career interests.

Students meet with an assigned advisor once every semester during the registration period to review progress-to-degree.
