Arthur Eckstein Named Distinguished University Professor

Professor Arthur Eckstein has been awarded the highest honor bestowed on faculty, the distinguished university professor.

It is our immense pleasure to announce that Professor Arthur M. Eckstein has been elevated to the rank of Distinguished University Professor, the highest honor the university bestows on members of the faculty.  Professor Arthur Eckstein will be honored at a ceremony later this fall, with more details to be determined.

Professor Eckstein is Professor of History and Distinguished Scholar-Teacher at the University of Maryland, College Park.  He is a specialist in the history of the Hellenistic world and Roman imperialism under the Republic.  He has published four books, a co-edited book, and over 60 major scholarly articles.
