Afternoon Talk with Cecilia Belej
Please join us for an afternoon talk on "Good Neighbor Policy and Culture: New Deal Art and Argentine Muralism, 1935-1945," with Dr. Cecilia Belej of Buenos Aires University. The talk will be on October 20th, at 4pm in Taliaferro 2120.
Cecilia Belej studied History at Buenos Aires University (UBA), in Argentina. She received an MA in Latin American Art History (IDAES-UNSAM) and a PhD in History (UBA). She teaches Social History at the Social Sciences School (UBA). Her research focuses on the political uses of mural painting in Argentina in the 1930s and 1940s. She is currently a Post-Doctoral Fulbright Visiting Scholar at the University of Maryland.
