Starting from its humble origins in the Arabian Peninsula during the seventh century, Islamic civilization underwent remarkable transformations, evolving into a global cultural force. This course offers an overview of the political, societal, cultural, and economic dynamics in the Islamic world, following a chronological structure. It spans from the era of Prophet Muhammad (570-632) to the emergence of Islamic gunpowder empires in the sixteenth century.
