HIST205 Global Environmental History | McRae

Fields: Global Interaction and Exchange; Science, Technology, Medicine, and the Environment

Humans shape the natural world, but how has nature shaped human history? This course travels broadly—from the Siberian tundra to the heart of the Amazon rainforest, from guano-strewn islands to modern megacities—to explore the interactions between humans and the rest of nature that made the world we live in, and how these histories help us understand contemporary ecological and climate crises.
