History Major Lourdes (Lulu) Long Encountering the Hard Truths of History

History Major and Honors Student Lourdes (Lulu) Long has accommodated her love of history as an intern on the Slavery, Law, and Power project.  She has found the work challenging but rewarding as she deciphers handwriting from centuries past. As a History Honors student, Lulu plans to write a thesis investigating inclusivity—or lack thereof—of labor unions during the Gilded Age and Progressive Era of US history. Her future interests include a Master's degree in History or History and Library Science (HiLS) leading to a career working in an archive or museum.
