Jessica Wicks-Allen Position at Arizona State University

Jessica Wicks-Allen, who received a PhD in August 2022, has been appointed assistant professor of African-American history in the School of Humanities, Arts, and Cultural Studies at Arizona State University. She will be on leave from that position during the 2022-23 academic year in order to take a postdoctoral fellowship at Penn State University's Richards Center. 

The title of Jessica's dissertation is " 'If I Am Free, My Child Belongs to Me': Black Motherhood and Mothering in the Era of Emancipation." Her advisor was Leslie Rowland.
