PhD Alum Awarded Penn State Post-Doc

Jessica Wicks-Allen (PhD, Advisor: Leslie Rowland) has been awarded a 2022-23 postdoctoral fellowship at Pennsylvania State University.  Jointly sponsored by the university's Richards Civil War Era Center and its Africana Research Center, the fellowship will support revision of Wicks-Allen's dissertation, " 'If I Am Free My Child Belongs to Me': Black Motherhood and Mothering in the Era of Emancipation."  Congratulations Jessica!
