Richard Bell Honored by Two Historical Societies

Richard Bell is getting notable honors from HIstorical Societies.
Richard Bell is honored to be elected as a member of the the Society of Fellows of the Massachusetts Historical Society. Founded in 1791, the Massachusetts Historical Society is an invaluable resource for American history, life, and culture. Its extraordinary collections tell the story of America through millions of rare and unique documents, artifacts, and irreplaceable national treasures.
In addition, the Baltimore City Historical Society has awarded Rick Bell the 2020 Arnold Prize for the best essay on the history of Baltimore. His essay, "Border State, Border War: Fighting for Freedom and Slavery in Antebellum Maryland" is forthcoming in a new collection of essays titled The Civil War in Maryland Reconsidered this November.
