UMD Historian Holly Brewer Joins Council on the Consitution

Brewer Part of Brennan Center Council on the Constitution
Holly Brewer, Burke Chair of American Cultural and Intellectual History, is part of a new, 18-member historians' Council on the Constitution for the Brennan Center for Justice at NYU School of Law. The Council will be writing US Supreme Court amicus briefs to help to counter claims about particular original interpretations of the US Constitution. Holly is currently the lead author of an amicus brief on presidential immunity for the criminal proceedings led by Special Prosecutor Jack Smith, currently being appealed by foremer President Trump. Holly has now written and/or helped with and co-signed five other amicus briefs, and three expert witness reports.
