History Hosts Fulbright Scholar From Poland
Sylwia Kuźma-Markowska is a visiting Fulbright scholar from Poland hosted in the Department of History by Piotr Kosicki. She is associate professor of history at the University of Warsaw in Poland. Her research is focused on the transnational history of the Polish anti-abortion movement during the last decades of communism and after the democratic transition (1970s-1990s). Kuźma-Markowska's work explores the shift from legal abortion in communist Poland to criminalized abortion in democratic Poland.
